Ambient Edge is ready to service your Lake Havasu HVAC system no matter when it happens, whether during a maintenance visit or when it breaks in the hottest part of the summer. We can often repair systems during the same day thanks to our part inventory.

Signs You Need Emergency Repair
Is that rattle really something you should ignore? What about that leak around the outside of the unit? If you notice a problem with your system, putting it off will only make it worse. Call us if your system is doing any of the following:
- Making strange noises
- Smelling moldy or like mildew
- Freezing around the coils
- Blowing all the time
- Blowing warm air when it shouldn’t
- Making hot and cold spots in the house
- Not adjusting the temperature correctly through the thermostat
- Tripping electrical breakers
These are all signs that your system may need emergency repair. You can contact our team anytime to get an inspection and diagnosis of what the problem is, along with a quote for fixing the problem. For many HVAC issues, we can solve the problem in the same day.
If your problem is more serious, like with a compressor, condenser, or a heat exchanger, we’ll calculate the costs and see if it’s better to get a replacement system. These components are like the transmission in your vehicle. Once that starts having problems, it may be better to get a new one.
Are You Changing Your Filter Regularly?
It’s crucial to the health of your system and your home’s air to change or wash your air filter regularly in your HVAC. These filters trap incoming dust, spores, pollen, and pollutants from entering your home’s air supply. If you ran your HVAC without one, your home and vents would get full of dust!
When these filters are clogged, your system has to work harder to push air through the filter and creates a lot of wear and tear on the parts. Worse, it cannot filter out new pollutants. Over time, your air quality can go down quite a lot if you don’t take care of your filter.
In the worst-case scenario, the blower could break down because it cannot pull enough air through the filter anymore. Repairing a blower is quite expensive, so take the time to check your filter once a month and see if it needs to be replaced or washed.
A Special Note for Older Systems
Was your system built before January 2010? If so, it uses an older kind of refrigerant called R-22. R-22 has been phased out because it’s harmful to the ozone layer. No new R-22 has been made since 2020 in the United States, and this makes repairing these systems difficult.
If your system is this old and you need refrigerant, we will have to find some through reclamation or recycling. This can make your repair visit far more expensive and time-consuming. We encourage homeowners with R-22 systems to switch to a more modern system.
The EPA is not requiring the replacement of these systems, but the cost of finding R-22 is climbing fast. Ambient Edge has financing options that can help you afford the cost of a replacement system if yours needs R-22. Contact our team for more information.
How Long Can I Put Off Getting a New HVAC?
We understand how expensive HVAC replacements can be. They’re $5,000 at the absolute minimum at the time we wrote this. So we know how much you’ll want to extend the life of your system as long as possible. Most systems will last 10-15 years with good maintenance in Lake Havasu.
After this, it’s a gamble how long your system will last before the cost of repairs overcomes the cost of getting a new system. We prefer to keep systems running as long as we can, but only as long as it’s economical. Once the costs of repairs exceed the cost of replacement, it’s time to get a new one.
However, it’s not all bad news if your system is too old and broken to repair. Newer systems can get you tax credits and lower energy bills to reduce the expense of paying for a new HVAC. Also, you can get a huge discount just by being a member of our VIP Club. If you enjoy the quality and experience of our repairs, consider joining to get service discounts.
